Our Client

Over 50 years old, our client is a highly regarded distributor of OEM equipment to the retail, building and construction sectors of Western Australia.

In recent times, the company has been acquired by a dynamic international leader with a turnover of $1.7 billion. The organisation manufactures, wholesales and distributes an extensive range of products to retail and industrial markets. They own over 100 companies worldwide with 6,500 employees and 8 manufacturing locations globally. Now with exciting, new and technically advanced products in its arsenal, our client is extremely well placed to further grow market share.

About the Role

Based in Perth, the Business Development Manager is a newly created position reporting to the Managing Director and will be specifically involved in exclusive new product representation and market penetration for the brand, as well as being the agent for various other brands within the international group. This role has a very exciting and rewarding career progression path as the organisation sets on its new journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing business plans for introduction of new products

  • Identifying new clients and channels for existing products

  • Liaising with General Managers regarding new product/ brand strategy into distribution channels

  • Maintaining contact with International Head Office for local input for new products and markets

  • Assisting the Managing Director with project management / development expansion plans

  • Reporting monthly on progress of products and strategies to grow market share

  • Liaising with Sales Managers regarding new account development activities

  • Plan, manage and control Trade Show presence throughout Western Australia

 

Key Selection Criteria

  • A Tertiary qualification in Marketing or Business

  • Sales and Business Development experience at a senior level across consumer and industrial products

  • A proven knowledge of and experience working with the mass merchant and large stockists

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen

  • The ability to liaise with key stakeholders locally and overseas

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities

Casual car parking is generally available in the basement of the Rialto Building (entry off Flinders Lane). There are also numerous parking stations within a short walk of the building, including those operated by Wilson Parking, Crown Casino and Etihad Stadium in the Docklands precinct. Metered street parking is limited, so we suggest you plan ahead to ensure you know where alternative car parking can be found.
